GRAPENUTS – A FAMILY FAVORITE!
Ingredients:
6 lbs Brown Sugar
8 lbs Whole Wheat Flour
1 ¼ Tbsp Salt
2 Tbsp Soda
3 Cups Wheat Bran
¾ lb Butter, Melted
3 Tbsp Maple Flavoring
5 Tbsp Vanilla
2 ½ qt Buttermilk or Sour Milk
2 Cups Cream
Directions:
Put dry ingredients in bowl, except soda, which should be added to milk just before adding the milk to the dry ingredients. Lastly, add butter and flavorings.
Mix well.
The thickness varies a little with your own wheat flour or store-bought flour. The dough should be fairly thick. If it is too thick, I add a little more milk and if not thick enough, add more wheat flour until the right consistency.
Put in pans and spread even with spoon or spatula. Bake in 350° oven until done
Makes approx. 15 lbs.
