Top Tiny Home Designs for 2019

If you are thinking about getting your own tiny home, here are our picks for the top tiny home designs for 2019 to help inspire you.

Tiny Home with a Tremendous Kitchen

You’ll be amazed at how roomy and practical this tiny house kitchen is!

Food blogger Lisa from 100 Days of Real Food and her husband recently built their own tiny home. Instead of waiting until they were old and could afford a cabin in the mountains, They decided to build a tiny house on wheels that they could use to escape and spend more time in the nearby mountains of North Carolina. Choosing to go tiny meant that they were able to achieve their dreams much sooner.

What really makes this one of the best tiny home designs is its kitchen. Being a food blogger, the kitchen was very important to Lisa so she wanted to design one that had many of the conveniences that she was used to. They have a tiny dishwasher, 24″ stove, and narrow apartment-sized fridge. Visit their blog and you will also get a list of all the kitchen gadgets and tools they were able to fit into this amazing kitchen.

The above video will give you a great tour of their tiny house and its great design. It’s really quite incredible how much you can fit into a small space!

Tudor Style Tiny Home – Classic Exterior

This is one of our favorite tiny house designs from Tiny Heirloom and it might become yours too, especially if you love the look of Old England. This tiny house has great curb appeal, with its over-the-top Tudor style exterior and just-as-impressive inside. The dark wood floors, spiral staircase, and trim are beautifully paired with royal purple cabinetry fit for royalty. You’ll also love the twisted branch railing protecting the upper sleeping quarters. Each feature is carefully selected to add to the overall Tudor feeling of the home.

It may only be 100 square feet in size, but this next tiny home design we found on Pinterest really packs a lot into that small footprint. The light colors chosen for the walls, ceiling, cabinetry, and trim really give the space an open and roomy feeling. Add the large windows and you get a space that is very bright and cheery. You’ll also love the choice of a lighter grey flooring and large bench seats that can double as loungers to give this cute tiny house a really modern and hip style.

Contemporary Tiny Home – Cozy Reading Nook

This next one of our tiny home designs comes from Tiny Living and features many very contemporary design elements. We think you’ll love the extra large sink and ample counter space in the kitchen as well as the really cool backsplash. These are design features that you might find in the most modern of kitchens. It also has a cozy reading nook complete with a padded bench and extra storage drawers underneath. The shiplap walls and wood ceiling are two more beautiful elements that help augment the appeal of this tiny house.

Tiny White House – Lighting Makes It Feel Larger

No, we aren’t talking about the oval office – the next one of our tiny home designs is a very white house we found on Pinterest. With its white walls, ceiling, stairs, appliances, and cabinetry, this home has a very bright and airy feeling to it even though it is small. The addition of recessed lights in the ceiling and nice sized windows on both the lower and upper levels add to the overall brightness of the space.

Tiny Home with Clearly Designated Areas

What you’ll like about this great tiny home design is the clearly designated areas. If you wouldn’t be happy having your living room double as an extra sleeping area or your dining room also being your living room, take a look at this next layout. This tiny home from ipinimg.com has specific areas for each activity. Your living room is quietly tucked behind your staircase and underneath your loft. Your kitchen is a galley shape with plenty of room to prepare meals and you also have a separate spot where you can work, study, or simply browse the internet.

A Tiny Home with Extra Space for a King-Size Bed!

The final offering of our tiny house designs come from TreeHugger. This slightly larger home is a whopping 224 square feet and has a number of cool features that make it seem even larger. For instance, the king-sized mattress in the loft is sunken into the floor to provide more head room. They have also managed to fit a full-sized fridge in the kitchen so you won’t have to cut back on your grocery shopping. In addition, the floating stairway is a really nice design feature and you can even entertain dinner guests with such a long table!

Tiny Home Living in the Missouri Climate

Unlike more northerly states, Missouri’s relatively mild temperatures in the winter mean you can take advantage of outdoor living space for more of the year (the average December and January temperatures hovering around the 32 degree mark and lows going down no more than 23 degrees), making tiny home living that much more accessible!
